Instructional Designer/PM, Customer Education
This role crafts engaging, dynamic digital customer education content and experiences that empower Fidelity Stock Plan Services and Workplace Investing clients to leverage products and services with confidence.
Your Role, Your Team
We are seeking a motivated and savvy instructional designer to scope, research, and write customer education content in a fast-paced, complex work environment. You will work with a team of writers, designers, and financial services professionals. Your work will directly contribute to Fidelity Stock Plan Services goals as we improve self-service and global delivery for our clients and their plans with Fidelity.
The Expertise You Have
- 5-6 years business experience in a related role, plus an undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, English, Creative Writing, or a related area.
- Sophisticated writing, visual design, and multi-media production experience, including collaborative work with animators, graphic designers, and/or visual design teams.
- Advanced researching, and interviewing skills, with experience in minimizing subject matter expert (SME) and client time, and eliciting clear impacts/outcomes from content and content creators
- Proven experience and proficiency working in fast-paced production environments, with a focus on both quality and speed
- Experience in financial services is not required, but is a plus

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools like Smartsheet and Jira, with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
- Enjoyment in learning new topics and explaining them to others through instructional design
- Skill in influencing and collaborating with team members and business partners, both in-person and through virtual platforms like video conferencing and email
- Creativity in crafting instructional materials that align with business goals and achievements
- Focus on the customer, listening closely to their needs and using their language and priorities in writing and design
- Motivated by problem-solving and finding innovative solutions for customer engagement and satisfaction
- Attention to detail and ability to edit dense content to make it more engaging and concise for learners
- Keen project management skills, ability to lead the outcome and deliver a quality experience even when partners are more senior
The Value You Deliver
- Developing a comprehensive library of instructional resources, using clear, accessible language and adhering to visual design standards, brand guidelines, and legal/regulatory requirements
- Creating video storyboards from internal policies, procedures, job aids, or interviews with subject matter experts; incorporating feedback, making vital edits, and ensuring a high-quality final product
- Implementing effective strategy and project management practices to maintain consistent, high-quality, and sustainable production work
- Collaborating with team members, subject matter experts (SMEs), and clients to ensure efficient workflow and quality assurance in instructional design projects
- Interviewing SMEs and other partners to gather relevant information, synthesizing it, and transforming it into clear, accurate instructional materials, guides, and resources for customers
