Job Purpose: The Finisher/Shop Helper is responsible for preparing the metal for finishing processes. Deliveries. Organization. Helps with other tasks in the shop as needed.
Finisher/Shop Helper should be able to:
Work with senior management and team members to ensure successful completion of projects by being able to:
- Pass our insurance qualifications to be on our auto insurance policy.
- Visually inspect parts – looking for defects/scratches
- Prepare metal for finishing processes.
- Operate various grinders to remove excess metal from parts.
- Communicate verbally with peers, supervisors, and management to understand customer’s specifications.
- Complete finishing processes.
- Take photos of the final product before packaging and post on Slack.
- Safely & effectively package products for outsourcing delivery and for final delivery – on product and on trucks – (using enough packaging to prevent damage, and enough strapping to prevent fly off of trucks.)
- Complete Delivery/Packing Slips for all items leaving shop that are headed to vendors or customers.
- Make deliveries of materials to vendors and final product to customers. Take photos of deliveries and post on Slack before leaving site.
- Keep shop tools, supplies, samples organized.
- Work in other areas as needed.
- Troubleshoot work-related problems by trying to determine the source of the problem.
- Keep work area clean by performing general housekeeping duties.
- Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e. glasses, work shoes, ear plugs, gloves, - all provided.)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and move around freely.
- Operate a forklift safely.
- Must be willing to make deliveries with company trucks to Chicago, Detroit, Northern Michigan.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, ensuring an absence of felonies of drug and/or sex-related infractions. This strict protocol is especially crucial as this position requires our employees to represent our company daily when entering customers' homes and businesses making deliveries and helping with installations. Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility listed above satisfactorily.
Must have valid driver’s license at time of applying.
Full-time position: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm
Starting pay $18-$20/hr. based on experience.
Benefits:
