Job Overview
Responsible for coordinating total nurse care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel. Applicants should have experience and a confident understanding of pre-op and perioperative roles. Perioperative experience should include scrub, circulating, and assistance with instruments and equipment. This position oversees and/or processes and sterilizes surgical instruments and scopes. Maintains department inventory and manages employees, patient, and providers schedules.
Duties
- Lead and supervise staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor patient care quality, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Manage staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Address patient and family concerns effectively, promoting a positive healthcare experience.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic health record systems.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or current temporary RN license.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in an OR setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and professionalism.
