As a skilled Java Developer, you will support the Automated Time and Attendance System (ATAAPS). The role involves applying computer science principles and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software systems. You will work on multidisciplinary teams to create robust software solutions while ensuring compliance with software standards and regulations.
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Responsibilities:
- Conduct multidisciplinary research with hardware engineers to design and utilize electronic data processing systems.
- Analyze user needs and system capabilities to resolve program intent and output requirements.
- Prepare operating instructions and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensure adherence to software standards while designing and modifying software systems using scientific and mathematical methods.
- Coordinate software installations and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specification compliance.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems and guide others in coding descriptions.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate database development and define project scope and limitations.
- Review and estimate time and cost for project requests based on database user needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in software development and system engineering
- HTML and Spring/Struts framework experience
- Proficient in applying technical standards and principles in software engineering with strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Skilled in managing time effectively and working independently across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery.
- Experienced in troubleshooting and implementing system changes with expertise in SQL, VisualBasic, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software systems, and development environments.
