Senior Estimator – Electrical Construction
We’re looking for a skilled Senior Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive cost estimates for a wide range of electrical construction projects. This role calls for deep knowledge of electrical systems, strong analytical abilities, and the capability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Working closely with the Chief Estimator, project teams, clients, and subcontractors, you’ll ensure every estimate aligns with project goals and exceeds client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans and specifications to identify risks, challenges, and value opportunities.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates support project objectives.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with plans and specs.
- Include all necessary costs in bid packages, including subcontracted work, equipment rentals, tools, and materials.
- Prepare and submit proposals, and support contract negotiations.
- Participate in project handoff meetings to clearly communicate scope, estimates, and supporting data to the project team.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all client-required documents.
- Draft scope letters with clear inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of electrical estimating experience, with a strong track record of success on large or complex projects.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Strong familiarity with commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Experienced in Conest or similar estimating software.
- Knowledge of local building codes, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
