Summary Position Description
Title: Director of Facilities Management
Reports to: CEO
Location: Toledo, Williston & Napoleon, Ohio
FSLA Status: Salaried, Exempt
Job Summary: This position is responsible providing overall leadership to Lutheran Ministries of Mercy affiliates in the area of facilities management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to affiliates in the areas of building and grounds maintenance, cleaning and laundry operations, safety, procurement and contract management, security, space management, and utilities.
- Identifies, drafts and guides implementation of best practices in order to achieve desired outcomes, cost control and efficiency of service delivery.
- Manages & leads change by setting tone, expectations and continuous quality improvement.
- In conjunction with appropriate staff, identifies needs for capital improvements and repairs to facilities, operation systems, and grounds.
- Works with designated personnel in planning special projects, provides field inspections of designated work.
- Reviews and approves all capital expenditures exceeding establish threshold.
- Provides oversight of affiliate regulatory requirements.
- Leads affiliate emergency management teams.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED. College preferred.
- Flexibility of scheduling to provide necessary direction & support services required of this position.
- Experience in maintenance & care of buildings and facilities, preferably relating to long-term care.
- Minimum of five years of progressive management experience in facilities management.
- Demonstrates organizational skills, capable of planning, initiating, and leading to establish & accomplish goals & objectives.
- Must hold current Ohio Drivers License, possess a clean driving record, and be able & willing to safely and satisfactorily operate affiliate vehicles.
- Must have good physical and mental health & be capable of lifting 40# in bending, turning, and/or twisting postures. This position requires considerable walking and occasional climbing of ladders & assorted obstructions.
