Role Description:
FilmNation Entertainment is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Legal and Business Affairs Assistant to directly support the team in our New York office.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant company and work within a collaborative and fun environment. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn about production, international sales and distribution as it relates to the Entertainment industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the systems and trackers used within the BA department.
- Scheduling, organizing, and assisting in the preparation of materials for interdepartmental meetings
- Handling administrative tasks for the department ensuring accuracy and proficiency as well as suggesting new processes.
- Coordinating with clients for payment submissions and signatures
- Maintaining the contract database and files, both digital and hard copy
- Communicating with clients both directly and on behalf of other team members
- Corporate work, including forming corporations, and periodically updating schedules to the company’s corporate credit facility
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience in an office environment preferred but not required (internships, externships, etc. qualify)
- A demonstrated interest in legal and business affairs is preferred
- Must have a good work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills
- Proactive and anticipatory with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines
This is a great role for an up-and-comer to gain experience in all aspects of the production, international sales and distribution process in addition to dealing with all areas of the business on a daily basis. This fast-paced environment requires a motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment, and applicants must be extremely organized and highly detail-oriented.
This is an in-office position Monday-Thursday, Fridays are remote. This position's anticipated annual base salary is $53,500. This does not include any other compensation components or benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and from which they will be performing the job.
