The opportunity
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include:
- Direct leadership for Sourcing, Warehouse, and Distribution Teams.
- Oversee and lead the site supply chain and procurement functions which includes distribution/logistics, sourcing, transportation, and warehousing.
- Lead the development/execution of site supplier relationship strategy that maximizes value for Porex, establishes strategic relationships with key suppliers, mitigates risk, and builds category expertise.
- Work with operations and commercial managers to ensure service and inventory plans and execution are consistent with business financial goals.
- Provide support to internal manufacturing operations including sourcing, network optimization, continuous improvement, and procurement.
- Support inventory optimization efforts and procurement strategies to ensure best in class cash conversion cycle attainment. Development of supporting inventory, volume, service, and space requirements.
- Identify and implement new or “best practices” designed to drive a world-class supply chain.
- Lead multiple departments, both direct and indirect, including procurement/sourcing, distribution, logistics, warehousing. Ensure goals are aligned with operations. Supply chain and inventory strategies and objectives are measured with relevant key performance metrics across the site (including financial, service, etc.).
- Interact with leadership and operational teams cross functionally.
- Frequent trips between plant and local DC, with potential 10% domestic travel.
Supply Chain Certifications – Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
Qualifications / Relevant Work Experience
- At least 8 years of supply chain and procurement leadership experience to include distribution, supply chain management, logistics, sourcing, and procurement.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role with demonstrated success in growing and developing a team, both direct and indirect.
- Demonstrated success in SRM, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management. Experience in resin-based categories is a plus.
- An entrepreneurial minded leader who constantly strives for improvement, unwilling to accept there is not a better way, is ambitious and wants to have a great impact on the world.
- A creative results-oriented leader who is particularly good at balancing multiple priorities and issues.
- One who is passionate about driving and sustaining change in an organization through committed leadership.
- Leadership experience in multi-site supply chain.
- Strong professional knowledge in all aspects of supply chain, procurement (category management, SRM, contract management) and continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma, logistics, demand planning, inventory optimization, SIOP, production planning, transportation, warehousing, order processing and customer collaboration)
- Must have detailed understanding of MRP, fulfillment/buying, demand planning/management and forecasting.
- Strong management skills in dealing with internal and external customers.
