Duties
- Coordinate surgical schedules and ensure timely communication with patients regarding their procedures.
- Manage pre-operative assessments and ensure all necessary documentation is collected and processed.
- Facilitate communication between surgeons, clinic staff, and patients to ensure clarity on surgical protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes, including Medicare coverage inquiries.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as NextGen for documentation and scheduling.
- Collaborate with medical coding staff to ensure accurate billing for surgical services.
Skills
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge of Medicare processes and requirements.
- Experience in medical office management to oversee daily operations effectively.
- Familiarity with front desk duties to assist in patient interactions.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Strong office management skills to streamline administrative tasks.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical coding practices to support billing processes.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is a plus but not required.
