About the Role:
A well-established logistics and freight handling company is seeking a highly experienced Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at a busy crossdock facility. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of freight while maintaining operational excellence and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all crossdock terminal operations, including inbound and outbound freight flow, staffing, and scheduling.
- Manage and lead a team of dockworkers, drivers, and administrative staff.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement processes to improve productivity and minimize downtime.
- Monitor freight integrity, damage control, and proper documentation.
- Coordinate with dispatch and transportation teams to meet delivery timelines.
- Conduct regular facility audits and safety meetings. Hire, train, and evaluate terminal staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in terminal or dock operations management.
- Proven leadership skills in a high-volume freight handling environment.
- Strong knowledge of crossdock operations, LTL shipping, and freight flow processes.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and OSHA compliance.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
