Purpose of Role:
Responsible for leading the development and application of machine learning models, advanced analytics, and statistical techniques to support strategic decision-making and optimize business outcomes.
Expectations:
- Develops, deploys, and refines machine learning models to solve complex financial services business problems and improve organizational processes.
- Works with cross-functional teams to collect, clean, and preprocess data from diverse sources to ensure high-quality input for analyses.
- Conducts in-depth data analysis and produce actionable insights to support strategic initiatives and partners with various business units to understand needs and apply data science solutions effectively to meet business objectives.
- Continuously assesses and fine-tunes models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and reliability, adapting to evolving business conditions as necessary.
- Documents processes, maintain data science best practices, and provide training and support to team members on data initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data science or a related field, with expertise in machine learning methodologies and data-driven solution design.
- Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Expertise in data science methodologies and the ability to provide actionable insights that drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is highly preferred.
- Recent experience in developing and implementing time-series models, classification models, regression models, dimensionality reduction techniques, and clustering algorithms.
- Experience with technology across lending and financial services industry verticals preferred.
- Experience functioning at senior levels in adaptive, evolving environments across financial services preferred.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies like AI, ML, etc.
- Advanced understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib for effective communication of findings to stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of model optimization, A/B testing, and validation techniques.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly and translate them into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of key U.S. laws and regulations relating to financial services technology.
- Knowledge of a wide range of technologies and how to best leverage them at enterprise scale to achieve strategic objectives that drive enterprise business outcomes.
- Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate action(s).
- Ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and drive projects forward to completion.
- Ability to present complex material in an easily understandable format (written or oral) and communicate effectively across groups, including executives, with varying levels of technology knowledge.
- Highly motivated with an ability to manage open-ended challenges.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to stay abreast of rapidly changing technologies and ideas across the lending space.
- Comfortable navigating areas with evolving structures to establish processes and organization where needed.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($90,000 - $140,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
