What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Controller position at Financial Additions?
Financial Additions has partnered with a growing General Contractor in North Dallas in search of Controller.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Oversee job cost tracking, WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Ensure proper subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and retention tracking.
- Internal Controls and Compliance
- Act as the point of contact for external auditors
- Maintain internal books and finances Analyze financial transactions
Qualifications
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within construction or general contracting.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and WIP reporting.
- Experience with AIA billing, subcontractor compliance, and lien management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks).
