Position Overview : We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Agency & Business Development Manager to join our growing team in the insurance industry. This role is pivotal in sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding, and providing strategic guidance to independent insurance agents to expand our distribution network. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the insurance industry, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building and strengthening relationships.

Key Responsibilities :

Recruitment Strategy Development :

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top independent insurance agents.
  • Utilize various channels including social media, job boards, and industry networks to identify potential candidates.

Candidate Sourcing :

  • Actively source, screen, and interview prospective independent agents to assess their qualifications and fit for our organization.
  • Organize and participate in Agent Summits, conferences and events. Create presentations; actively engage in events and conferences for agent marketing.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Relationship Building :

  • Establish and nurture relationships with potential recruits via outbound calling.
  • Invest time to understand their career goals and motivations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain strong relationship with agents and carriers.
  • Onboarding Process :

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for newly recruited agents, ensuring they receive the necessary training and resources to succeed.
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance during their initial ramp-up period.
  • Performance Tracking :

  • Monitor recruitment metrics and analyze the effectiveness of recruiting strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on recruiting progress and outcomes for management review.
  • Strategic Guidance :

  • Offer strategic advice and insights to help external partners develop effective marketing plans that align with the company’s goals.
  • Assist in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for campaign development.
  • Market Research :

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities to refine recruitment strategies.
  • Identify potential markets and regions for the expansion of the independent agent network.
  • Collaboration :

  • Work closely with internal teams including human resources, marketing, training, and operations to ensure a seamless recruitment and onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with management to understand the specific needs and goals for agent recruitment.
  • Contracting & Licensing Management :

  • Begin contracting for all external agents.
  • Ensure all internal representatives and Agencies have completed certifications yearly.
  • Confirm external agents certifications and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Communicate updates from carriers and scheduled trainings.
  • Administrative Responsibilities :

  • Training and development of new contracted agents.
  • Answering incoming calls and fielding appropriately.
  • Providing customer service to current clients with servicing questions.
  • Back up to all QA & Agent application duties.
  • Keeping an organized activity log.
  • Point person for agent questions, concerns and problems.
  • Fulfilling agent orders and shipping kits via Fed Ex.
  • Order materials from carriers.
  • Processes applications.
  • Daily recaps and monthly reporting.
  • Requirements : Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience :

  • Proven experience in agent recruitment, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry or similar experience.
  • Familiarity with the independent insurance agent model is a strong plus.
  • Skills :

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence others.
  • Comfortable make outbound calls to prospective agents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Multitask; being able to accomplish multiple projects at a time whether ongoing or deadline project.
  • Proficient in computer skills including knowledge of Salesforce, MS365, and recruitment tools.
