Director of Collections and Recovery

Position Summary: The Head of Collections and Recovery is responsible for analyzing and developing strategies to achieve profitable growth while maintaining credit risk within acceptable levels. The position has the analytical abilities to translate business objectives into analytical frameworks and to solve them by optimally balancing different metrics.
Responsibilities:
· Develop collection strategy to mitigate the portfolio risk
o Develop portfolio performance monitoring metrics
o Develop / refine loss forecast including timing curve to measure and keep track of the portfolio
o Develop / refine delinquency forecasting for collection agency staffing and budgeting
o Develop testing plan to test the effectiveness of the collection strategies
o Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to enhance underwriting
· Develop recovery strategies to maximize the recovery income
o Develop multi-channel recovery by adding legal and / or debt sale
o Monitor recovery performance including recovery timing
· Assist custom score card development
· Securitization related activities including rating agencies’ data request and road show
· Ad-hoc data requests
Experience & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Engineering, or STATs (Masters preferred)
· Minimum of 8 years of consumer lending industry experience
· Experience in credit risk management and collecting and recovery
· A background in sophisticated quantitative environments in student loans / personal loans / credit cards
· Proficient coding skills in Python/SAS/SQL
