What will you contribute?
Working as an intern, you will report to the Director of Software Development, but will be working with different members of the US-based software development teams that work on our flagship lending product, LaserPro.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Your deliverables as an intern will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designs and develops high-quality, fully tested code.
- Tests, debugs, analyzes and fixes application problems/issues. Works closely with stakeholders to fix issues in a timely fashion.
- Follows the software development lifecycle process.
- Project work that will enhance productivity for developers. Examples of possible projects:
- VS Code extension for FPL (proprietary scripting language) that does more than just colorizing. Need to build a language service.
- Touch-ups on the new DataDict tool to finish it off, so we can make it the official version.
- Build pipeline monitoring widget so that it's easy to see when builds are scheduled for, and which are active. Might be a dashboard displaying Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Experience with programming languages being taught in your course work. C#, JavaScript, VB, PowerShell, or other Type Script language.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle beneficial, but not required. We’ll teach them.
- Ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems independently.
- Intermediate knowledge of required programming languages.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; effective customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
