Network Administrator – Summary
- Network Management & Security: Administer and support a hybrid network, including on-premises and cloud components, ensuring security and optimal performance.
- Infrastructure Implementation & Maintenance: Configure and maintain network hardware/software (routers, switches, firewalls, access points, servers, etc.), including security updates and patches.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Perform network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting while escalating complex issues to vendors as needed.
- User & Access Management: Oversee security management, backups, user accounts, email systems, and access permissions to maintain system integrity.
- Threat Detection & Response: Monitor for cyber threats, identify vulnerabilities, and implement protective measures against security risks.
- Helpdesk & Support: Diagnose and resolve technical support tickets efficiently using an issue tracking system.
- Technology Planning & Research: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, providing recommendations for network and security enhancements.
- Qualifications & Skills: Requires IT-related experience, knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs), experience with Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V, and VoIP systems; certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network , or Cisco-related credentials are preferred.
