The Preconstruction Co-op is an entry level position and a great way to gain exposure and knowledge in the construction industry. You'll be working with our Preconstruction department to gain experience from project start to close. We foster a supportive and collaborative environment with the goal of exposing you to a variety of hands-on learning experiences.
Come join Findorff as a Preconstruction Co-op this Summer/Fall (June 2025 - December 2025) or Spring/Summer (January 2026 - August 2026)
Gain On-the-Job Experience:
- Attend pre-bid conferences to gather project details.
- Participate in bid day activities including big package preparation.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for various project components.
- Assist in the development of preliminary project schedules.
- Attend meeting with owners, architects and engineers.
- Attend pre-task, pre-bid, and post-project meetings.
- Participate in bid result evaluations.
- Communicate with prospective bidders using bidding software or telephone.
Networking:
- Technical Tour Tuesday - designed for Co-ops, Interns, and new employees to explore other job sites and learn about interesting aspects of different projects—and have tacos!
- Job Site Visits - see projects from other sectors: Education, Science & Technology, Multi-family, Corporate, or Healthcare.
- Mock Bid Day - partner with other Findorff Co-ops and participate in Mock Bid Day.
- Offsite Events - Findorff helps organize multiple events for Co-ops/Interns so you can network with other students on different projects.
Qualifications & Education:
- Open to College students pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Able to work independently and on a team.
- Tech savvy with strong computer skills.
