Title: Inspection Technician
On-site - O'Fallon, MO - 1st shift 7am-3:30pm & 2nd shift 3;30pm-Midnight(training will take place on 1st shift)
Job purpose: Inspects materials and products such as, imaged rolls, pads, ribbons, and sheets of labels for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties:
Key responsibilities:
Reviews documents such as Data2 and/or customer specifications, to ensure completeness and accuracy of data and manufacturing processes.
Performs dimensional measurement of customer specifications at various stages of inspection to ensure product meets specifications.
Examines material or product for imaging and/or manufacturing defects.
Notify Supervisor of schedule delays, quality, cost or production problems that could affect the job.
Prepare and complete padding of labels.
Verify and complete Shipping documents for job.
Inspect product at various stages of production. Example: roll inspection, final inspection, and quality checks in shipping process.
Sort, combine, shrink wrap and package final product per internal/customer specifications.
Pulls bins and prepare and package orders for shipping.
Perform quality checks in shipping prior to final shipment.
Ship packages via UPS/Fed Ex and Great Plains systems.
Verify completed Customer job folders prior to filling.
Train new inspectors for all areas of Converted Products Inspection.
Assist in Shipping whenever applicable and participates in cross training.
Follows all ISO procedures and work instructions pertaining to the task they are performing.
Preferred Requirements and Education:
Ability to perform routine and demanding operations with minimal supervision
3 years’ work experience in similar job type
Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
Willingness to work overtime if needed.
Capable of using measuring instruments such as: ruler/scale (10ths, 100ths, etc.), digital caliper, and eye loop.
Knowledge of PCs and related software for Converted Products flow and paperwork.
Ability to initiate remakes.
Able to operate equipment such as: a printer, rewinder, roll inspection table, shrink wrap machine, heat sealer, scanners, scales and slitter.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (email)
Ability to communicate effectively
1-2 years’ work experience in similar job type
