What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter/Designer position at FineLines Drafting & Design?
Geospatial/OSP Drafter
FineLines is currently seeking entry to mid-level drafters and/or geospatial engineers with knowledge and/or experience in ArcGIS to design and draft fiber optic routes and small cell designs. Ideal candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and provide accurate, high-quality work that meets internal and client-specified requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Design fiber optic routes to customer specifications utilizing ArcGIS and satellite imagery
● Attention to detail to ensure all required dimensions, callouts, IDs, and map components are present in the final product
● Perform quality-control checks to ensure that all work meets or exceeds customer requirements
● Continue learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
● Supervise and/or guide lower-level drafters as needed
● Use logic and reason to make design decisions based on various circumstances including but not limited to structures, roadways, land formations, utilities, etc.
● Adhere to and follow design processes/procedures
● Communicate with Project Leads to provide clear, timely updates on project process and raise any issues that may be present
Requirements:
● Working knowledge of ArcGIS preferred
● 1 years ArcGIS experience highly preferred
● Expertise and proficiency with AutoCAD, Python, Microsoft Suite, and Revit applications is highly preferred
● High School Diploma required
● Associate Degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or related field preferred
● Excellent time-management and self-direction skills required
● Experience incorporating data from topographical surveys and geophysical reports into working documents preferred
