Investment Analyst

Our client, a $50mm AUM Hedge Fund in Greenwich, CT is seeking a Junior Investment Analyst.

Long/short absolute return focused hedge fund is looking to fill one analyst position working closely with its industry veteran, founder & Chief Investment Officer. Must have prior analyst experience in buy-side research, preferably at a hedge fund.

The ideal candidate has a solid academic background, went to a top university, and has 1-2 years of fundamental experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting deep, fundamental securities analysis understanding business
• Being the primary contact with companies under consideration - including prepping questions, scheduling & leading calls, and handling all follow-up
• Formulating analysis & summarizing key analytical conclusions in investment memos from your research, co/industry calls, sell-side conferences, special events, etc
• Attend and participate in weekly investment team research meetings
• Present new long/short ideas to the CIO and Investment Team for consideration to be added to the portfolio
• Monitoring existing portfolio companies - both news-flow, valuation, and financial modeling updates
• Assist in the updating of internal screens and watchlists
• Performing detailed risk analysis on investments & risk management on the Portfolio
• Assisting in the general operation of the fund when required – including updating ideas in the marketing deck and helping write-up key investment ideas for the quarterly investor memo.
