Computing Sciences Faculty (FA)

Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is searching for full-time Faculty of Computing Sciences. We are looking to grow our team of student-centered educators who are committed to innovation and excellence. We offer courses in Java and Python programming, cloud computing, video game development and design, networking, cybersecurity, and more! We are looking to expand the curriculum across the college to include Artificial Intelligence. As an FLCC faculty member you’ll have the opportunity to work with a supportive group of faculty to expand your technical knowledge and deliver dynamic cutting-edge curriculum to help prepare students for careers and further studies in technology-related fields.

Faculty will be hired at the academic rank commensurate with experience.

Teaching:

1. Develops and delivers course materials in a variety of formats, including in-person, online asynchronous, and hyflex modalities.
2. Fosters an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
3. Participates in curriculum development and assessment activities.

Advising, Service & Professional Development:

1. Advises and mentors students, supporting their academic and career goals.
2. Serves on college committees and participate in faculty development opportunities.
3. Stays current in emerging technology trends, integrating them into courses.
4. Engages in opportunities for growth in all facets of effective, inclusive teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and relevant work experience may be considered.
2. Previous experience teaching Computer Science is preferred.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
4. Experience using Artificial Intelligence is preferred.
5. Willingness to teach at any of FLCC's campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor), and in various delivery modes as needed, is preferred.

Benefits and Salary Range

1. Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience – Starting salary: Instructor: $56,132; Assistant Professor: $62,567.
