The Humanities Department Full is seeking a Full-Time Tenure-Track Faculty Member specializing in digital and multimodal composition. We seek an innovative and adaptable educator committed to student engagement, excellence in teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration who integrates technology, multimodal communication, and digital projects into humanities education.

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an equity-minded educator who is committed to FLCC's mission, vision, and values.
Teaching:
- Teaches a mix of composition and digital/multimodal writing courses, such as ENG 101 (Composition I), ENG 103 (Composition II), ENG 102 (Introduction to Reading Literature), ENG 113 (Technical Ethics) and courses integrating digital media (e.g., ENG 225 Literary Journal, ENG 227 Writing for Podcasts).
- Incorporates AI literacy, multimedia storytelling, and multimodal composition into coursework.
- Develops and delivers course materials in a variety of formats, including in-person, online asynchronous, and hy-flex modalities.
- Engages students in applied digital projects, such as online publishing, podcast production, and digital archives.
- Fosters an inclusive and technology-forward learning environment.
Advising, Service & Professional Development:
- Advises and mentors students, supporting their academic and career goals in digital and traditional writing fields.
- Collaborates with faculty in Humanities and the Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA) departments to expand interdisciplinary projects.
- Participates in curriculum development and assessment, ensuring best practices in multimodal writing and digital humanities pedagogy.
- Stays current in emerging trends in AI, digital publishing, and media production, integrating them into courses and projects.
- Supports initiatives that enhance student retention, engagement, and professional readiness in writing and digital media fields.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in English, Composition & Rhetoric, Digital Humanities, Creative Writing, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching composition at the college level, preferably in a community college setting.
- Experience with multimodal composition, digital publishing, or media storytelling.
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in digital and traditional learning spaces.
- Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or MFA in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- Working with International students.
- Experience mentoring students in applied digital projects or internships.
- Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, podcast production tools, and multimedia storytelling techniques.
- An active publishing agenda in digital or creative writing fields.

Benefits and Salary Range
- Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience Starting salary: Instructor: $56,132; Assistant Professor: $62,567.
