Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Operational Strategies: Work with senior leadership to set department goals and implement strategies that align the team to achieve company objectives. Identify people, processes, or procedures that are creating barriers, surface solutions, and resolve those barriers effectively. Create an environment of operational excellence and a positive team culture focused on achieving departmental goals.
- Identify Opportunities for Process Improvement: Continuously assess operations to identify areas for improvement, leveraging industry best practices and process improvement techniques. Implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Oversee Day-to-Day Back of the House Operations: Manage all back-of-house functions, ensuring that all departments (property care, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) are operating efficiently and in alignment with company policies and brand standards. Ensure properties are always guest-ready and properly maintained, reflecting the high level of service Finger Lakes Premier Properties is known for.
- Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously: Oversee the execution of multiple projects across various operational areas, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Effectively allocate resources and adjust priorities to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Lead, Manage, and Mentor Employees: Lead, motivate, and mentor the operations team, fostering a positive work environment where employees feel supported and encouraged to grow. Inspire a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence in all areas by leading by example.
- Hiring, Onboarding, and Training Staff for Success: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for key operational roles. Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure all staff are fully equipped to succeed and uphold our brand promise.
- Performance Management: Lead performance management efforts, conducting regular check-ins, providing constructive feedback, and identifying opportunities for growth. Hold team members accountable for their responsibilities, ensuring consistently high performance standards.
- Monitor Industry Trends and Competitor Activities: Keep an eye on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Quality Control and Inventory Management: Develop and enforce inspection processes for property care, housekeeping, and maintenance to ensure quality standards are met. Oversee inventory management for property-related supplies, ensuring that resources are maintained efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Take Ownership of Safety and Organization: Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed, providing a safe and secure work environment for the team. Maintain organized, clean, and safe operational spaces in line with our high standards.
- Represent and Promote FLPP to Owners, Guests, and Neighbors: Serve as a representative of Finger Lakes Premier Properties to owners, guests, and neighbors. Foster positive relationships through effective communication and actively address concerns to reinforce our commitment to quality service.
Qualifications:
- Proven Experience in a Vacation Rental Property Management Senior Leadership Role: Significant experience in a senior leadership role within operations management, ideally in the hospitality or property management sector. Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and manage complex processes and teams.
- Strong Strategic Planning Skills: Ability to develop and execute effective strategic plans that align with company objectives, ensuring the team and operations are consistently working towards defined goals.
- Exceptional Leadership Abilities: A strong leader with the ability to mentor and motivate teams, build trust, and enhance performance while fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation and Vendor Management: Skilled in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement Expertise: Experience with process improvement techniques to drive efficiency and enhance productivity across operations.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and represent the company professionally.
- Results-Oriented Mindset: A passion for operational excellence and achieving results. Ability to make data-driven decisions and implement actions that lead to measurable improvements.
- Proficiency in Property Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in property management software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage operations and communicate effectively.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role requires a valid driver's license and ability to drive as well as the successful completion of a background check. It also requires the ability to work in a variety of physical environments, including outdoor areas with varying weather conditions. The job involves regular lifting, standing, bending, walking, and repetitive motion tasks. Employees may be exposed to chemicals, allergens, and other environmental factors typical of property management and maintenance.
