Project Manager
Summary
At Finish Point, Project Managers are responsible for the management of projects from inception to full completion. This requires proficiency in administration, interpersonal skills, and the technical aspects of finish carpentry. Each Project Manager can expect to be responsible for 2 - 4 projects at any given time, depending on the active workload of the company. Additionally, Project Managers play a critical role in the development of every person on the Trim and Millwork team, and must be prepared to lead coaching conversations frequently.
Responsibilities
Preparing for upcoming projects
- Reading architectural drawings, planning all aspects of the trim installation, anticipating logistical needs, discovering, recording, and communicating important details; preparing a team lead to execute and manage the project, etc.
Managing ongoing projects
- Daily check-ins with each of your assigned projects, frequently visiting the site, assisting with problem solving, joining production teams and participating in production work when necessary, assisting with logistics and supplies (materials, job set up, etc), coaching conversations with team members as necessary, monitoring billing and overall progress of work against the completion date, etc.
- Communicating with contractors, homeowners, and vendors; selling more work, negotiating for billing of added work, etc
Developing each member of our team
- Promoting company culture, investing time and wisdom into our team, frequent coaching conversations, frequent “hard” conversations, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Finish Carpentry
- Skilled at organizing information
- Highly detail oriented
- Skilled in reading architectural plans
- Ability to self manage
- Skilled in clear, professional communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to handle conflicts well
- Willingness to develop/coach others
- Dedicated to efficiency (for self and others)
- Ability to detect, identify, and solve problems
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems
- Basic proficiency in Google Workspace (specifically in Sheets and Docs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in technology based management practices
- Skilled in logistics and sequencing events
- Skilled with Google Workspace
- Mastery of finish carpentry skills
- Knowledge of various construction management software
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and moving materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,415.00 - $75,000.00 per year
