Roller OperatorThe Roller Operator is responsible for safely operating the roller and other heavy equipment to support paving and compaction activities. The operator works closely with the paving crew and foreman to maintain efficient workflow.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties• Safely operate the roller and other heavy equipment in accordance with company and industry standards.• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.• Conduct routine maintenance, including monitoring fluid levels, checking tire pressure, and verifying operational functionality.• Promptly report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.• Work closely with paving crew members and the foreman to ensure seamless sequencing of operations.• Follow designated signals and instructions to accurately position the roller.• Maintain situational awareness at all times to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):
Qualifications• Minimum of 2 years of asphalt rolling experience• Knowledge of rollers and other equipment in construction environment• Knowledge of safety requirements in construction sites• Ability to work effectively with supervisors, co-workers and subcontractors• Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
