What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Appraiser I position at FINNEY COUNTY?
Summary
This position will conduct physical inspections of properties and appraise residential, commercial, oil & gas, and personal property. Performs other duties as required. This position works under general supervision of the County Appraiser and/or his/her designee.
Definition and Examples of Work

Property Appraisal/Mapping. Conduct physical property inspections and review data to provide accurate real property and personal property values
Collection and verification of Property Characteristics. Complete field and property inspections; may include physically viewing, measuring, collection and recording information.
Data Analysis. Analyze and evaluate data; utilize computer terminals for data entry and retrieval.
Hearings. Serve as hearing officer for appeals and protests defending values at various hearing levels. Includes exemptions and grievances.
New Construction/Building permits. Measure and list newly constructed buildings, additions, and contributory items. Including remodels, review current use, and occupancy level. Gather construction information and take photos of all structures from different angles.
Sales Validation. Verify conditions of sales and validity of sale price. Along with onsite measurements, photos, legal descriptions, current use, and occupancy
Final Review. Complete final review of property parcels to establish appropriate value.

Complete various departmental support functions
Maintain accurate records and compile reports as requested.
Provide education for taxpayers regarding yearly appraisal process.
Collect and deliver all documents for mail in the Appraisal department.
Assist other departments in completion of assignments when requested.
Attend staff meetings and attend continuing education/trainings as required.
Interact professionally with the public to respond to questions, calls, and concerns and to provide information and assistance
Additional duties may be assigned as business needs require.
