Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team. The Learning Support Specialist will work directly with individuals with autism and other developmental disorders, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in providing support and education to clients and their families, fostering a positive environment that promotes growth and learning.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Assist clients in developing essential life skills through structured activities and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Collect and document data on client progress, ensuring accurate medical documentation for ongoing assessments.
- Educate clients and their families about behavioral health strategies, care plans, and the importance of consistency in interventions.
- Conduct research data collection to support program development and effectiveness.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and best practices in behavioral health.
- Collaborate with team members to review client progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in medical documentation is beneficial.
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices, including assisting in the implementation of care plans.
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate clients and families about behavioral therapy techniques.
