Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiological analyses, ensuring accurate results and detailed documentation.
- Maintain lab equipment and uphold a clean, organized workspace for efficient operations.
- Summarize findings and communicate technical reports to technical, marketing, and sales teams effectively.
- Plan and conduct complex research projects, such as screening the efficacy of biocidal chemicals against various populations of microorganisms.
- Isolate and maintain cultures of BSL-1 and BSL-2 bacteria or other microorganisms for future studies.
- Identify and classify microorganisms found in specimens collected from field samples.
- Assist with the development of protocols and procedures on how to properly handle, store, and transport samples.
- Dispose of chemical waste following established protocols.
- Mentor less senior technical personnel.
- Collaborate seamlessly within a team environment to achieve goals.
- Adhere strictly to safety, health, and environmental regulations, promoting safe practices.
- Participate in hazard assessments and safety reviews to ensure laboratory safety.
- Provide technical support and training to business teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for innovation and improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in microbiological lab methods, preferably with a focus on oilfield applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental, health, and safety standards applicable to biocide manufacturing and application.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adhere to strict safety protocols and participate in safety training programs.
- This position may require occasional travel, including to field locations to assist with sampling and testing.
- This position is safety-sensitive and will require company-mandated drug testing.
