Job summary:
The Marketing and Outreach Specialist plays a vital role in advancing FIRC’s mission by strategically managing marketing communications, program outreach, and fundraising events. This position is central to the success of the Development and Marketing team, requiring expertise in content creation, event planning, project coordination, and collaboration across departments.
As a multi-faceted and highly visible role within the organization, the Marketing and Outreach Specialist ensures FIRC’s brand and messaging are effectively communicated through various marketing platforms, including social media, print, email, and outreach initiatives. The position also requires bilingual (verbal and written) proficiency in English and Spanish to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate is an organized, creative team player who thrives in managing multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt to shifting demands. This role is essential to building awareness, driving engagement, and supporting FIRC’s programs and events.

Primary Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Marketing
Develop and produce materials for FIRC’s website, newsletters, annual reports, event signage, videos, and press releases.
Ensure all communications align with FIRC’s brand standards to effectively inform media, donors, and clients.
Manage and create social media content (Facebook, Instagram) to grow community awareness and support development objectives.
Translate and adapt content for Spanish-speaking audiences, ensuring cultural relevance and grammatical accuracy.
Analyze marketing metrics and campaign performance, optimizing strategies for improved engagement.
Event Planning and Execution
Coordinate and manage logistics for major fundraising events (e.g., FIRC Night Out, Colorado Gives Day) and community events (e.g., First Fridays, Resource Fairs).
Oversee venue selection, vendor coordination, and day-of event needs to ensure seamless execution.
Collaborate with the Development Team to plan event timelines and create detailed project boards using Monday.com.
Strategic Collaboration and Outreach
Design and distribute marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and direct mail pieces.
Partner with community organizations and media outlets to promote FIRC programs across print, television, and digital platforms.
Develop and manage marketing plans, budgets, and timelines for campaigns and events.
Maintain an inventory of FIRC’s marketing collateral and oversee its distribution.
Organizational and Team Support
Assist program managers and the Development Team with community and fundraising events.
Maintain open communication with program staff, managers, and directors to align efforts across the organization.
Continuously evaluate marketing efforts and recommend improvements to enhance outcomes.
Provide universal support for additional tasks as assigned to advance FIRC’s mission.
The person we are looking for will:
Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with a broad range of people.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with many competing and often changing priorities.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy in performing job duties.
Requirements of the position include:
At least one year of Graphic Design experience using platforms like Adobe Illustrator and/or Canva.
Email marketing experience using platforms such as MailChimp.
At least one year of experience in SEO optimization and web design/maintenance: WordPress, Elementor, or similar software.
Experience in Volunteer Management Platforms such as Bloomerang to post opportunities.
Experience planning a diverse range of events, with demonstrated success in coordinating nonprofit fundraising events.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but equivalent work experience accepted.
Strong experience in social media content creation and management.
Strong analytical skills/ability to evaluate successful marketing campaigns and report on their performance.
Experience with budget management and oversight.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge software (or similar database software).
CO Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and reliable year-round transportation is required.

Be able to work in person at a physical FIRC location 4-5 days a week, with some weekends and evening hours required.
