Job Description:
The ideal Fire Extinguisher Technician must have the ability to communicate effectively with their fellow coworkers and customers. The technician is expected to perform the work with the highest of quality and ensuring the customers overall needs are met. Our ideal candidate must be diligent in being customer focused, having a safety awareness, and have the ability to work independently or as a team with other inspectors.
The duties and responsibilities of the Fire Extinguisher Technician will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inspect, repair, perform maintenance and install fire extinguishers using basic hand tools and recharging equipment.
- Service extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts. Cleans extinguishers and recharges them with approved materials.
- Inspects, tests, and perform repairs on equipment such as exit and emergency lights.
- Provide fire extinguisher training for customers and their specific safety needs.
- Complete all inspection paperwork and company reporting in a timely manner.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience preferred but not required; willing to train.
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record to operate company vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry 60lbs periodically daily.
- Ability to work well alone and without constant supervision; however, MUST be extremely proactive in communicating with Direct Supervisor with status of work on a regular basis.
- Must have basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors in varying temperatures for long periods of time.
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude; company shirts provided and must be worn.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing – with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule, especially in the summer and during peak time periods.
Education/Certification:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
