Job Description
The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Marine Parts Inventory Supervisor in the Bureau of Marine Operations. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Mechanics, the successful candidate will: Be responsible for the distribution and storage, as well as the receiving, classification and re-stocking, of all supplies and equipment for the Bureau of Marine Operations. This includes updating and maintaining current inventory levels both with physical counts and electronically through a computerized inventory management system. Assist in the loading and unloading of supplies and equipment. Verify delivery of merchandise against packing slips, purchase orders and specifications; perform quality-assurance checks on deliveries. Assist with all Grant Audits for locating materials. Assist in the identification of obsolete or damaged equipment, and related relinquishing, through the appropriate channels. Assist in the planning, coordination, distribution and maintenance of all special projects, grant incentives and new initiatives for FDNY units. Assure the adherence to policies and procedures set forth by FDNY Marine Operations. Perform special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred Skills
Two years of full-time satisfactory experience performing store keeping activities, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.Knowledge of Marine Industry tools and equipment. Experience running a large warehouse. Knowledge of warehouse equipment. A valid New York State drivers license. Ability to update and maintain current inventory levels both with physical counts and electronically through a computerized inventory management system. Ability to verify delivery of merchandise against packing slips, purchase orders and specifications perform quality-assurance checks on deliveries
