Position Summary
The Sr. Scientist in Biology will be a key member of the Biology team, leading efforts to understand the mechanistic biology of oncology targets and contributing to program leadership. They will conceive, design, plan, and execute in vitro studies to evaluate novel antibody drug conjugates for applications in oncology and other areas of unmet medical need. The position is lab-facing and on-site. Title and compensation package will be based on experience and relevant skills.

The Sr. Scientist in Biology will be a key member of the Biology team, leading efforts to understand the mechanistic biology of oncology targets and contributing to program leadership. They will conceive, design, plan, and execute in vitro studies to evaluate novel antibody drug conjugates for applications in oncology and other areas of unmet medical need. The position is lab-facing and on-site. Title and compensation package will be based on experience and relevant skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive and execute on the design, development, and optimization of in vitro biochemical and cellular assays to evaluate novel payloads, antibodies, and ADCs (antibody drug conjugates) Oversee and contribute to the design and execution of in vitro studies for target validation
- Establish robust in-house capabilities to perform in vitro experiments with high throughput
- Contribute to the understanding of program biology and participate in new target recommendations
- Leverage cell surface target antigen biology to guide therapeutic design and identify appropriate preclinical models
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Protein Sciences and Chemistry teams
- Oversee cell line procurement, evaluation of optimal culture conditions, expansion, storage, and cell line inventory
- Actively participate in department and project team meetings
- Design and manage CRO studies where applicable to support internal efforts
- Ph.D. with a degree in cancer, cell or molecular biology or closely related field
- 6 years of industry experience in cellular assays and drug development research
- Strong background in cancer biology and ADCs (antibody drug conjugates) including managing experiments at CROs
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and executing in vitro experiments to validate targets and treatment ideas using ADCs, mAbs, degraders or small molecules
- Expertise in target validation and cell signaling work preferred
- Experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, antigen internalization assay, cell viability and toxicity assays, Western blot analysis, ELISA, cell-based fluorescence and chemiluminescence assays, and cell line engineering
- Proven capabilities in maintenance of cell line health and longevity
- Experience with handling animal and human tissues
- Highly organized, diligent, and quality focused with excellent computer and documentation skills
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data in a clear manner.
- Experience with translational methods and analyses including IHC, transcriptomics, genomics and proteomics a plus
- Demonstrated success in collaborative planning and execution as a project team leader
- Creativity and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to excel in a highly collaborative environment
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
