What You Will Do:
- Assists the certified oncology data specialist in maintaining medical center tumor registry consistent with the standards set by the American College of Surgeons. Assists in the development of a multi-disciplinary comprehensive cancer program.

Maintains a follow‑up file documenting current disease status on all cancer patients diagnosed at Firelands Regional Medical Center or those diagnosed elsewhere but receiving their first line of therapy at Firelands Regional Medical Center. (American College of Surgeons‑Class 0, 1, 2)
Coordinates weekly tumor board activity at Firelands Regional Medical Center as well as adding cases to UH Site Specific Tumor Boards.
Assists the medical center’s Cancer Committee in coordinating the overall cancer program activities within the medical center and that of the ACOS CoC Accreditation process.
Assists the certified oncology data specialist and cancer center leadership with annual CoC accreditation documentation and triennial accreditation survey.
Assists the medical staff in evaluation of the quality of care of patients and in development of cancer-related criteria and procedures for such evaluations.
Assists certified oncology data specialist, physicians, residents, interns, and other medical center personnel with cancer-related studies and projects.
Keeps log of requested studies.
Assumes responsibility for professional growth.
What You Will Need:
- High School diploma, or equivalent, and two years of college education in allied health field preferred (including medical terminology, anatomy and coding principles).
- Upon hire, must be actively enrolled in an accredited oncology data specialist program and be working towards certification.
