What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter position at Firetrol Protection Systems?

We are currently seeking someone who has an enthusiastic attitude and strong work ethics with a passion for drafting and design.
Responsibilities:
- Designs fire protection systems utilizing architect generated dimensions and structural backgrounds. Identifies and resolves all elements affecting coordination and communicates any outstanding issues.
- Performs device layouts per NFPA requirements.
- Performs battery calculations and voltage drops.
- Reviews all design drawings in detail before completion.
- Coordinates with the Design Manager on drawing schedules in conjunction with the project manager for permitting.
- Reviews all design documents prior to submittal for permit and architect/engineer review.
- Attends project meetings and jobsite visits, as needed. Performs site surveys as required.
- Documents and advises all parties of any discrepancies, unclear intent or missing information that will affect coordination or design intent.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Associates Degree in Drafting or Autodesk Certified Professional
- Experience in using Autocad.
Job Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Competent math ability
- Proficient using Autocad
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Training or classes in CAD is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of climbing on/off equipment and ladders
- Ability to walk job sites
Special Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
