General Purpose
Provide and maintain a clean and sanitary environment supporting in an effort to provide residents with a homelike quality of life. Provide each resident with the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care.

Essential Functions
- Assures that his/her assigned duties meet facility standards; is familiar with and follows the facilities policies and procedures.
- Perform cleaning tasks as assigned, to include but not limited to; sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash in resident and common areas.
- Supports residents in attending physician appointments and other appointments as determined by the Director of Assisted Living Services.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with peers and Residents and works collaboratively with all departments.
- Observe and report patient condition by monitoring vital signs and records patient information into ECS, depending upon skill level.
- Meets residents’ needs by promoting highest level of independence.
- Completes assignments in a timely, safe, and thorough manner.
- Ensures that all Resident needs are met through resident centered approach.
- Immediately reports faulty equipment. Safety awareness is demonstrated by using proper body mechanics, reducing clutter and keeping hallways clear. All incidents/accidents must be reported to the person in charge immediately. Follows the facilities safety policies and procedures.
- Principles of infection control and prevention are consistently followed. Demonstrate adherence to universal precautions and exposure control plan/Personal protective equipment when appropriate.
- Ability to be flexible and work other assignments and shifts as needed and assists other departments as needed. Any duties are deemed necessary to manage the overall well-being of the Residents.
- PSS/CNA in good standing with the DHHS/State of Maine CNA registry preferred. Maintain 12 CEU’s of in-service per year required by First Atlantic Healthcare.
- Ability to perform duties as assigned. A desires to care for people, especially those who are elderly and chronically ill. Ability to work with independence, flexibility and good judgment.
