First Bank and Trust is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Abingdon, VA to join our team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing transactions related to the Bank's bills and payments. Primary duties include reviewing invoices and making timely payments to vendors and suppliers. This individual will assist in implementing a new accounts payable software system. The Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with the accounting department on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the implementation and integration of a new account payable software.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Work closely with the accounting team to streamline Account Payable processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks and financial reporting as needed.
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
- Track corporate credit card expense report submissions and approval.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- One or more years' experience in accounts payable or/or accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
