Responsibilities
- Maintain a profitable commercial loan portfolio.
- Interview applicants to develop credit and financial information to determine if a loan is an acceptable risk.
- Assists with implementing the bank’s business plan and keeping management apprised of internal resources, market conditions and competitive pressures.
- Consult with customers to provide financial advice and obtain current credit and financial information.
- Identify and explore business development opportunities within the community.
- Work to attract new loan and business customers.
- Represent the bank in the community to develop business and promote FB&T products and services.
- Prepare and present loan requests to the loan committee for approval.
- Manage loan portfolio relating to maintenance, modifications, and renewals on existing credits.
- Monitors the asset quality of the commercial loan portfolio including authorizing credit and maintaining appropriate underwriting standards.
- Adheres to regulatory compliance, governing documentation, record keeping, origination, collection laws and regulatory reports.
- Cross sells bank products and services.
- Correspond with loan processors, underwriters, and credit analysts.
Qualifications
- Ten years of experience in a financial institution, loan department, or similar area is required.
- Extensive knowledge of lending services and related areas.
- Good managerial, communication, and public relationship skills.
- Ability to general new clients through business development activities.
