This position is for the 2025-2026 school year
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Preschool Teacher is to provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment where preschool children have the opportunity to grow cognitively, socially, physically and spiritually.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS: The Preschool Teacher should display a commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated in professional and personal life; a commitment to Christian education and a calling to the ministry of meeting the particular needs of preschool students. The teacher should have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be organized, and a team player.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Education preferred. Early Childhood degree is highly preferred. Minimum of five (3) years related experience in Christian education preferred. Experience with Google platform preferred. Florida DCF certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Organize and effectively implement developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum with a Biblical worldview integration.
- Employs a variety of instructional aids, methods and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child - spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional.
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of their students.
- Plans and prepares an engaging classroom setting; oversees safety and educational programs; monitors children's progress in the classroom; provides a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate behaviors.
- Establishes a partnership with parents with open and cooperative communication. Encourages parents in their involvement in the program and their role in the family unit. Supports family relationships.
- Regularly assess student progress to provide differentiated instruction.
- Maintains ACSI/DCF Early Education Professional Development requirements annually.
- Cooperates with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures and directives governing the operation of the school.
- Model cooperative, respectful, responsible and spiritually-minded behavior.
- Promote FBA and the principles of Kingdom Education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
EXEMPT STATUS: Salaried
WORK SCHEDULE: 10-month position per contract.
