Overview: First Baptist Church of Ruidoso is seeking a musically gifted, spiritually mature, and biblically grounded Christian to lead our worship ministry under the guidance of the Senior Pastor. The primary focus of this position is to honor, praise, and glorify God through worship. The secondary responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's unique gifts, passions, and experiences.
Compensation Package:
- Total Compensation (Full-Time): $61,000 annually (includes housing and retirement)
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan and lead worship services that are spiritually enriching and align with the church's mission.
- Direct all music ministries within the church, including participation in weddings, funerals, and special events as needed.
- Identify, recruit, and mentor new volunteers for the worship ministry, fostering a culture of growth and participation.
- Shepherd, train, and care for volunteer worship teams with grace and flexibility, ensuring a supportive environment.
- Develop and manage the annual worship ministry budget in consultation with church leadership.
- Explore and implement non-musical worship experiences to engage the congregation in diverse forms of worship.
- Oversee the church's worship technology, ensuring all technical aspects of services run smoothly.
- Manage and oversee church communications, including the website, social media platforms, church-wide emails, and print materials, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
- Managing the livestreaming platform of the church for weekly broadcasts.
- Attend and actively participate in church staff meetings and retreats to promote unity and collaborative planning.
- Partner with youth and children's ministry leaders to cultivate worship experiences tailored to various age groups.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and care of all church-owned musical instruments.
- Integrate devotional and prayer times into team rehearsals to strengthen spiritual bonds and focus.
Qualifications:
- Alignment with the doctrine, mission, vision, and values of First Baptist Church of Ruidoso.
- Demonstrated experience leading worship in a church setting similar in size and style to First Baptist Church of Ruidoso.
- Proficiency as both a vocalist and instrumentalist, with the ability to engage and lead the congregation effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of Christian worship music across multiple styles, with an emphasis on blending traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs to create spirit-led worship experiences.
- Ability to read music proficiently.
- Experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on collaboration and mentorship.
- Formal training in music, particularly church music, is preferred.
- A lifestyle that aligns with the biblical requirements for leaders, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 2 Timothy 2, and Titus 1:5-9.
- A clear calling to ministry and a passion for leading others in worship.

FBC Ruidoso is a gospel centered church that seeks to Make, Mature, and Multiply disciples of Jesus Christ.
FBC Ruidoso is a mountain church nestled in the tall pines of Ruidoso, NM. The building is located at 270 Country Club Dr. in Ruidoso, NM. The church property is 14 acres with a beautiful view of Sierra Blanca peak. The building is over 44,000 square feet of space that includes areas for children, youth, a gymnasium, worship center, coffee area, class rooms and an amazing mall area as you enter the church. It is not uncommon to see elk and deer in the parking lot, ready for worship!
Our building is great, but the body is even better. We have a friendly, praying, loving church body. We have an intergenerational church with a large section of seniors/retired folks. We have active LifeGroups that meet throughout the week (especially on Wednesdays and Sundays). Since we are located in a tourist town, our attendance ranges from 200 to over 300 people at some times of the year (like summer time). A Spirit-filled church is a Singing Church. We love to worship the One True God together. FBC Ruidoso truly thrives with a blended type worship of both modern and traditional music. We have a praise band and even lay-led drama teams with the children. We have active children and youth ministries. We actively build partnerships with our schools. FCA is a big part of this partnership. Weekly ministries like Awana, Kid’s Worship, and Bible Drill help equip our children with the gospel and for future ministry. Our youth stay active with study of the word and evangelistic efforts outside the church. Our church has a partnership with the Village of Ruidoso. We help out with things like Village Trunk R Treats, Easter Egg Hunts and Annual Fishing Days.
FBC Ruidoso is a mission loving church. With many family members of missionaries in our church, we frequently have missions celebrations and homecomings with missionary families. We truly believe that a church that shines the farthest, shines the brightest at home. Village of Ruidoso, NM Profile
Ruidoso, a mountain resort village, lies in the Sierra Blanca Mountain Range where it merges with the Sacramento Mountains. The population is just under 8,000. Ruidoso Downs and Alto, neighboring towns, bring the population to over 20,000. Ruidoso’s two seasonal tourist seasons can easily bring the population to around 30,000.
The alpine village of Ruidoso sits at an elevation just under 7,000 feet.
Ruidoso is in Lincoln County (Billy the Kid Country), New Mexico, and is its largest municipality. The village is surrounded by a million acres of wilderness and national forest, making it an ideal location for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and for off road recreational vehicles. The options for outdoor activities are endless.
Ruidoso is a warm and friendly community that offers residents a feeling of suburban, rural, small-town mix which leans conservative. It is home to both full and part-time retirees. Wildlife is very present in the village, and it is not unusual to see elk, deer, and wild horses roaming freely. Since they have the right-of-way, you will more than likely find yourself stopping to allow them to cross the road.
Located just minutes from downtown, Grindstone Lake offers many activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking, fishing, and disc golf. Cedar Creek Trails and Recreation Area, located in town, is popular for hiking, biking, picnicking, and has a fitness trail. Just north of Ruidoso is Alto Lake which also offers an abundance of recreation.
Among the many independent and unique shops throughout Ruidoso, there are a variety of chain stores. There are two grocery stores, Albertsons and Lowes Market. In the northern edge of Ruidoso Downs is a Walmart Supercenter. Several other options include Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Bealls, Shoe Dept. Encore, Ace Hardware, True Value, Big 5, Foxworth Galbraith, and Walgreens.
Ruidoso has a strong community atmosphere. Not only is the village friendly, warm, and inviting, it is a community that pulls together in times of difficulty.
