What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Pastor position at Grace Community Church?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A born-again baptized believer in agreement with the Church’s vision, structure, strategy, values, and beliefs.
- A serious disciple of Jesus Christ committed to personal spiritual growth.
- A pastoral heart with a commitment to the local church.
- Spiritual gifts in and a passion for children’s ministry.
- The relational skill and ability to work with people and equip volunteers.
- Must be well acquainted with and willing to implement the Purpose-Driven Church model for children’s ministry.
- Willing to support the total Church program of stewardship, worship, missions, fellowship, and education.
- A college degree, and 3-5 years of experience working with Children
- Experience in preaching and a desire to further develop preaching skills.
- Willing to serve as a team member of the Church staff, working toward the health and growth of the congregation as a whole.
- Able to take initiative as a self-starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To supervise the Nursery Ministry
- Hire and supervise the Early Childhood Supervisor.
- Assist in hiring and supervising paid nursery workers.
- To lead the Children’s Ministry Team
- Schedule volunteer teachers and assistants.
- Provide leadership for weekly Children’s Worship Services.
- Provide leadership for Children’s Small Group Discipleship.
- Maintain and supply a Children’s Ministry Resource Center.
- Conduct volunteer training workshops.
- Administrate annual Children’s and Family Events.
- Attend annual conferences and seminars on Children’s Ministry.
- Other Responsibilities
- Lead weekly Children’s Ministry Team Staff meeting.
- Update the Pastor on the progress and future needs of the Children’s Ministry.
- To keep accurate attendance records.
- Plan an annual appreciation event for Children’s Ministry volunteers.
- Supervise the maintenance and scheduling of the Children’s Ministry Building.
