Primary Role:
This role supports the development and launch of electronic modules for original equipment (OE) and aftermarket applications. It involves providing detailed reviews of electrical and software requirements, assisting with electronic circuit design, preparing design verification (DV) and production validation (PV) test plans, testing, coordinating outside testing, and preparing technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute DV/PV test plans, coordinate workflow with outside test labs, ensure compliance to requirements, and write reports.
- Assist software and electrical engineering teams, technicians, and manufacturing engineers with documentation of compliance to defined processes throughout the development cycle.
- Design and release electronic modules that meet new application and customer requirements.
- Develop hardware design documentation, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and work control criteria and checklists (WCCA) documents.
- Perform circuit simulation and generate lab data to support design approval process.
- Follow the product development process to ensure project deliverables are on time.
- Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Coordinate building of prototype parts.
- Support warranty return and plant reject analysis to determine root cause and drive product improvements.
- Assist other engineers with project tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 1-2 years of experience, including internships, graduate degrees, and relevant work experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and communicate effectively.
- Self-motivated individual with a passion to succeed, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with embedded software, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Knowledge of communication tools like CAN and LIN.
- Experience in automotive requirements definition, specifications, testing, validation, and quality.
- Automotive experience, particularly with braking, lighting, or towing systems.
- Creating test cases for design validation plans.
- Board-level circuit design experience, worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), and hardware simulation analysis techniques.
