Position Summary:
The HR Specialist (HRS) plays a crucial role in managing a wide range of HR responsibilities to ensure a smooth and efficient workplace. Effectively and efficiently work candidates through the hiring process, including background checks as well as overseeing the completion of onboarding tasks, to include I-9 documentation. HRS is a role that directly provides administrative support to Operations.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
This role requires a blend of administrative strengths, detailed attention, and strong communication skills to effectively manage both routine HR functions and specialized tasks, ultimately contributing to a smooth and well supported workplace. (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not all-inclusive.)• Serves as the main point of contact for new hires
- Contacting references and performing background checks on applicants
- Exposed to all human resources procedures, assists with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department
- Assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they
- Processes and maintains employment verifications and other important HR records, ensuring accuracy and
- Handles Level 1 employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring
- Assists with completing password resets for company users,
- Electronic filing of employee personnel records and other important documentation
- Responds timely to verifications of employment
- Collects, prepares and submits responses to unemployment claims.
- Directly supports Operations to deliver essential human resources services and support.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in human resources, talent
- Performs other assigned tasks as needed, adapting to evolving organizational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
- At least one year of human resource management or other administrative support experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and ATS systems.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional travel (via automobile, move about airport, air travel, etc.).
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, materials, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery.
- Continuously communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Work Environment:
- Office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. May be exposed to dust, fluctuation in inside temperatures and electro-magnetic radiation as in a computer screen.
