First Choice Services is a non-profit operating several FREE programs and helplines across multiple states with the common goal of making behavioral health and social services easier to access and navigate! And we do all of this from our beautiful office in Charleston, WV!

What will the Program Coordinator do?
The Program Coordinator will work with the Program Director on all things program support! From assisting in the hiring process, ensuring program compliance, the Program Coordinator will vital be in employee and programmatic support. The Program Coordinator serves a population seeking behavioral health and addiction treatment, and therefore, must be driven, empathetic, and passionate about mental health, suicide prevention and substance abuse treatment for consumers of all ages.
What are some of the essential functions?
  • Assists the program director with leadership of program employees in the areas of hiring, training, discipline, recognition, employee evaluation and ongoing supervision.
  • Assists other program employees with complex situations, giving instruction when needed.
  • Responsible for making recommendations for staff support and professional development.
  • Monitoring calls/chats; providing constructive feedback; willing to answer calls/chats/texts as needed.
  • Maintains and improves quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines and recommending improved procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of best practice and program knowledge.
  • Provides staff and director training, when necessary.
What are the requirements for the positions?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or other human services field preferred. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and orally.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience leading groups of people.
  • Strong time-management and people skills, flexibility, and multitasking ability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen (post-offer).
  • Ability to work different shifts, when needed, to meet our employees where they are.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Continuous computer work, so candidates must have computer and typing skills.
