SERVICE/PARTS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
First Class Watercraft Sales Operates multiple location in SE Florida is an authorized retailer for the industry’s top boat manufacturers, Regulator, Grady-White, Contender, Blackwood, Blackfin, Robalo, Shearwater, Sailfish, Chaparral, Sterling, Blackwood. We strive to provide a VIP experience in order to bring a level of quality and service that is unmatched in the marine industry. We are currently hiring a Service Advisor/Writer for our service department. This individual will play an intricate role in our ability to service our customers and grow our operations.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills and effective communication both verbal and written.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong working knowledge of parts and supplies used in the maintenance and repair of personal watercraft.
- Experience operating marine equipment.
- Ability to read and use technical manuals, parts books, and drawings.
- Proficiency in computer systems including Internet, Email, and MS Office products, especially Outlook and Word.
- Experience using Lightspeed for creating and tracking work orders is a plus.
- Two years of experience as a marine mechanical technician or marine yard team member – preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take customer service requests via telephone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Act as the primary contact for service customers, fostering trusting relationships to promote retention and loyalty.
- Explain recommended service needs to customers, emphasizing reported issues and preventative maintenance for their vessels.
- Identify problems and recommend appropriate maintenance actions for vessels. Create and track work orders using Lightspeed, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Confirm all service employees’ labor times entered by techs in work orders for tracking and invoicing purposes.
- Create and maintain schedules for technicians, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and time.
- Assist technicians in performing billable work to maintain schedules and ensure timely job completion.
- Supervise technicians and maintain customer schedules to meet service commitments.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment at all times.
- Ensure warranty claims are created, submitted, and warranty payments received on a timely basis.
- Inspect jobs throughout the process to ensure quality control and adherence to standards.
- Oversee and approve timesheets of technicians, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure accuracy and correctness of all work order data entry for proper documentation and billing.
- Assist in the timely completion of work orders and invoice submission to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure retention and obtain recommendations.
- Provide the parts department with work order information and assist in parts ordering to support service operations.
- Ensure parts inventory is maintained regularly.
- Ensure any parts released have an open and completed RO.
- Maintain communication between technicians and the parts department to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Generate job reports as requested by management to provide insights into service operations.
- The incumbent will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the marine service/parts department and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
- All other tasks as assigned by management.
