Non-profit veterinary hospital in Jacksonville, FL has openings for full-time veterinary technicians who are eager to work at a mission proven successful in reducing shelter deaths and improving the lives of underprivileged pets. First Coast No More Homeless Pets is a recognized leader in affordable accessible veterinary services and high quality, high volume spay/neuter programs. The ideal candidate must be able to multi task in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive, professional team-oriented attitude. Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic is a must. A caring and compassionate attitude is required of all team members. On the job training is offered so prior experience is not required, but is preferable. The veterinary clinic is equipped with digital x-ray, in house lab, and paperless medical records. Primary duties include assisting the veterinarian as needed in addition to the below:
-calmly, and safely, approach and restrain canine and feline patients
-maintain clean exam rooms, and set up for routine procedures
-surgical prep of surgical patients
-perform blood draws, diagnostic samples, and x-ray procedures
-prepare medications after being prescribed by the doctor, and explain usage to the client
-communicate discharge instructions to clients
-documenting and maintaining records on patients as requested by the doctor
-clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments
-be knowledgeable in products and services that we offer
-nursing care for our patients

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
