Requirements :

The candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a proven track record in customer service. Three years of related experience with commercial loans and consumer loans. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable. Above average skill with computer, typing and 10-key skills is required. Familiarity with real estate secondary market, credit union software systems and Microsoft applications is a plus.

The Loan Quality Supervisor is responsible for supporting, developing and leading the Loan Quality Team. Must demonstrate a positive attitude, a professional image, and be self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Must be able to build relationships in the community and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Essential Functions :

  • Able to perform all functions of the Loan Quality Department.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, coaching, supervising and performance evaluations of Loan Quality employees in accordance with credit union policies, procedures and job descriptions.
  • Engage in career coaching and the professional development of Loan Quality employees to meet and exceed performance expectations.
  • Communicate collaboratively with the Vice President of Loan Quality, Senior Vice President of Credit Administration and Human Resources regarding human resource issues including disciplinary processes, up to and including terminations.
  • Maintain a good knowledge and current understanding of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance related to compliance and the operations of the credit union. Completes required compliance training in a timely manner, comply with all regulations within scope of the position and encourage others to do the same.
  • Be a team player and serve as a role model for all credit union staff. Maintain a friendly, professional, positive attitude and provide prompt, efficient and confidential service. Communicate effectively and professionally with members, coworkers and management, including verbal and written communication.
  • Recognize and listen to member / coworker requests and / or concerns and identify their needs so they may better be served.
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
  • Ensure good working relationships with approved contractors, appraisers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and implement new procedures.
  • Able to exercise sound judgement while making timely decisions. Versatility and problem-solving skills are essential to this position.
  • Regular, predictable attendance and active participation in required meetings, unless prior approval granted.
  • Back-up staff when necessary.
  • Represents the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. The Loan Quality Supervisor is representing the Credit Union and empathy and tact are to be used at all times.
  • Adheres to established internal policies and procedures for compliance.
  • Completes required compliance training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
  • Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.

  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of the credit union’s core banking software that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.

  • Adequately perform all operational functions pertaining to position.
  • Confidentiality is of utmost importance.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
  • Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
