Description

Description:     Responsible for the daily activities of new tellers as they progress through a variety of financial institution responsibilities. Provide excellent service, process transactions under bank policies and procedures, assist with customer inquiries, and recognizing/referring cross-sell opportunities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Perform teller training with new hires and ongoing as needed.
  • Creates and maintains Saturday Teller Schedules.
  • Monitors tellers to ensure compliance with financial institution procedures and policies.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.
  • Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  • Receives and issues receipts for checking and savings account deposits.
  • Receives mortgage, consumer and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due. Enter payments into computer. Generates customer receipts.
  • Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Counts, checks, and packages coin and currency.
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares total amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Ensures that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.
  • Is responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution’s forms.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing procedures.
  • Assist customers with transactional needs according to established guidelines, including answering basic customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, service charges, interest rates, etc.
  • Maintain daily operational standards, including but not limited to cash drawer security, daily balance of cash drawer, item capture procedures, counterfeit currency identification, count and roll coins, balance ATM, and adequate supplies in teller station.
  • Knowledge of products and services
  • Protect the bank from unnecessary risk or exposure by being familiar with bank procedures and confidentiality guidelines, including but not limited to currency transaction reports (CTR), suspicious activity reports (SAR), Regulation CC holds and documentation, robbery procedures, etc.
  • Adherence to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
  • Adhere to security protocols for robbery, fraud, opening/closing process, cash controls, and teller procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance. 
  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, and all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Responsible for Vault Daily Balancing and ordering/shipping of money for branch.
  • Maintain branch ATM balancing, order money for ATM, and make entries to the ATM GL accurately
  • and timely.    
  • Review Reg CC Check holds placed by branch tellers the same day and ensure Holds are submitted for
  • secondary review. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications:     

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of in-house teller training course
  • Good interpersonal communication and computer skills; ability to operate standard office equipment such as ten-key.
  • One to two years of job-related experience.
  • Understands facets of the job, aware of duties and responsibilities, keep job knowledge current.
  • Works well with customers, promotes a positive image of the First Enterprise Bank

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described represent those an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, or kneel. Ability to see objects up close or at a distance, use peripheral vision, identify basic colors; Use of hands with ability to reach; ability to lift 20 pounds.
