We are seeking a Cash Handling Specialist to join our team at First Interstate BancSystem! As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and developing strong relationships with clients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform daily teller transactions in both the lobby and drive-up locations of the branch.
Main Accountabilities:
- Deliver top-notch customer service by addressing customer inquiries in person and/or on the telephone, ensuring that their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
- Perform customer account services such as receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, and selling cashier's checks, traveler's checks, and savings bonds.
- Manage customer account transactions by logging cashier checks, traveler's checks, and other special services; prepare currency transaction reports as needed.
- Develop client relationships by cross-selling bank products, answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customer needs, and guiding customers to a branch representative.
- Handle special customer requests by closing accounts, taking orders for checks, opening and closing Christmas and vacation clubs, exchanging foreign currencies, providing special statements, copies, and referrals, and completing safe-deposit box procedures.
Essential Requirements:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is mandatory; experience in a cash handling role is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong mathematical abilities, effective communication skills, and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Show ability to handle sensitive confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
