Overview
The Parish Administrative Assistant position is a part time, 24 hour per week position, reporting to the Pastor. Candidate must have verbal and written communications skills and attention to detail. Candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Candidate will uphold the highest standard of integrity and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Candidate will have basic accounting skills, assist staff as needed and interact with congregation members and the public.
- Candidate must be proficient with computer software to create weekly bulletins, process emails, edit and distribute a monthly newsletter, order supplies, prepare correspondence as needed, and maintain filing systems.
- Candidate will manage the phone system, directing calls, retrieving voicemail, and delivering messages accurately.
- Candidate will maintain the church calendar with respect to services, events and resources being scheduled.
Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate, college degree preferred
- Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with church administrative experience. General office administration is also desirable.
- Church background: Membership at First Lutheran is not required. A passion to serve God and the church through your work is desirable.
