Overview
Responsible for the direct supervision of the deposit operations team. The Deposit Operations Supervisor will supervise and direct the day-to-day functions, systems maintenance, and reporting mechanisms of the Deposit Operations Department. This role provides support to internal customers regarding the back-office functions of the Bank.
Duties
· Supervise, coach, and support, the Deposit Operations Team including the annual and mid-year review process.
· Make risk-based decisions within policy guidelines and act as the escalation point for the department
· Identify and implement department efficiencies and processes as needed
· Perform daily deposit operations functions as assigned, including retail & commercial banking support
· Release wire transfer requests
· Subject matter expert on Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) transactions & processing of ACH transactions
· Work with various internal GL’s
· Work with debit card disputes
· Work returned items
· Perform account verifications and research
· Perform report review and transactional research
· Work with legal requests including garnishments, levies, and subpoenas
· Work with various reporting mechanisms to reconcile maintenance functions and identify fraud.
· Participate as a team member to implement new products and/or services within the bank
Requirements
· Supervisory and coaching skills
· Knowledge of bank products and services
· Strong decision-making skills
· Ability to make risk based decisions
· Excellent working knowledge of computer applications including all Microsoft office products
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills
· Understanding of web-based software applicati0ns
· Ability to prioritize and work within deadlines
Education Experience
· 5 Years of operations experience required
· 3 years supervisory experience supervising teams of 3 or more preferred
· An understanding of NACHA rules and banking regulation preferred
· Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience preferred
· AAP certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Normal office environment that is well lit and ventilated. Some travel to customer sites through-out the banks markets may be required
· Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, and reach with hands and arms
· Frequently required to talk and hear; frequently required to stand and walk
· Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl
· Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds
· Specific vision abilities required includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
